In a fast paced, over-manufactured world, sometimes the best memories are made from the collision of those uncontrollable moments, driven by nature and the solar system. Dragging myself out of bed before dawn, knowing the tide would be in as the sun rose, grabbing my camera and hoping for just the perfect amount of cloud.. you need a little to transform early light into it’s myriad colours.
One of a very few paintings where a photograph was the starting point along with a lot of luck and love for the North Wales coast and mountains. Time and Tide remind us real joy is in fleeting moments, felt all the more when we put ourselves in the right place at the right time and some magic happens. (You might also recognise the Rhynogydd mountain range and Criccieth Beach.)
